Title: Beachy Head
Description: Higher than the White Cliffs of Dover, the chalk cliffs at Beachy Head is the point where the South Downs meets the sea; the name is derived from the French “beau chef” which means beautiful headland. 536 feet (163 metres) high, visitors are able to enjoy fantastic views and good walking, with the South Downs Way running close by. Down, below the sheer cliff, is the lighthouse and up above is the Visitor Centre where exhibits tell the history and archaeology of the area.
