Christs Hospital

Title: Christs Hospital
Description: Founded by Edward VI in 1552, it was not until 1902 that the school moved here from London. Built on a green-field site, the school is housed in magnificent Victorian buildings. Later the Blue Coat School, founded in 1702 by Oliver Whitby, transferred here from Chichester in 1951. This private school, with its mixed sex borders, has a strong artistic and musical influence. As well as it's renowned theatre, the school features an adjoining museum that contains fascinating school artefacts.
