Description: The third highest point in the South Downs and once the location of an Iron Age hill fort, the area is mainly covered in the type of grassland associated with a chalk substrate. With 4 acres (1.6 hectares) of Ditchling Beacon managed by the National Trust plus a nature reserve owned by the Sussex Trust for Nature Conservation, there are many interesting walks available, including part of the South Downs Way.
