Title: The Blue Idol Meeting House, Coolham
Description: Built in the seventeenth century, though probably not receiving its name until the nineteenth century (it was colour-washed in blue and empty or 'idle'), this timber-framed farmhouse was transformed into a Quaker meeting house in 1691 for William Penn. A galleried room was created by the removal of the first-floor timbers at one end of the house. Penn used to walk the 4 miles (6 km) from where he lived in Warminghurst to attend meetings.

Address: Oldhouse Lane, , Coolham, West Sussex
