Title: Wilmington Priory
Description: Although closed to the public, a great deal of this eleventh-century priory can be seen from the road or nearby public car park. Founded for the abbey of Grestain in Normandy before 1100, a large proportion of the present building dates from the fourteenth century. Using the local parish church instead of constructing their own building, there were rarely more than two or three Benedictine monks in residence.

Address: The Street, Wilmington, Polegate, East Sussex
